How We Began
15 years ago, Tye Leishman got an idea to start a local business focused on providing the best customer service, employing the highest trained technicians, and at the same time supporting the community as a whole. Tempco, Powell River’s Heating & Cooling Specialists, was born, and the idea has been very successful. Due to its high level of professionalism, many customers initially think that Tempco is a franchise. Tempco is 100% locally owned, operated and completely independent. 100% Powell River.
Whether you are considering upgrading your existing home heating system, have your existing heating system tuned up and inspected to be ready for this winter, or even looking to add air conditioning to your home for next summer’s heat, Tempco is the #1 trusted choice Powell River homeowners have been choosing for over 12 years. Tempco has been helping homeowners save money and improve the comfort of their home by upgrading their existing heating systems and air conditioning with the installation of highly efficient heat pumps, natural gas furnaces, and Regency gas fireplaces, including Rinnai natural gas tankless hot water heaters. Tempco is 100% locally owned and operated. Tempco is the factory authorized specialist in Powell River for YORK heating systems, gas fireplaces, FUJITSU and MITSUBISHI highly efficient heating & cooling systems, and can provide expert service and repairs for all manufacturers models. If you require service, Tempco is the one to call.
Tye is extremely proud of the expertise and capability of the highly trained team members. They include Matt McDowell, Colin Turner, Dean Merrick, André Huiberts, Mike D’onofrio, Alex Mitchell, Cole Stewart, John Rapp, Jeanette Haas, Crystal Burnett, Shannon Thompson, and Nicole Bicknell. Tempco HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) technicians are expertly trained to handle any heating, air conditioning or commercial refrigeration requirements. Company qualifications include government Red Seal certified tradesmen, including refrigeration journeymen, electrical journeymen and gas fitters. “Being an electrical contractor enables us to complete a variety of different jobs from start to finish, without the need to hire outside sub-contractors,” says Leishman. Tempco truly is “your one stop local HVAC shop”.
Crystal, Shannon, and Nicole are the ones to talk to when you are in need of a service. “We know that having the right people on the job is just as important as choosing the right equipment,” says Tye.
With energy efficiency and rising energy costs on everyone’s minds these days, Tempco is proud to offer many different choices for upgrading your existing heating system with attractive homeowner rebates available. FortisBC and York are offering up to a $1,000 rebate for customers who convert their primary heating source from oil, propane or wood to natural gas, and install both an eligible ENERGY STAR® natural gas heating system. When you are upgrading your existing natural gas furnace to a new high efficient gas furnace, there are rebates available up to $1000. Also, BC Hydro has a rebate of up to $6000 on select air-source heat pumps. Now is the perfect time to consider investing in high-efficiency for your home, and enjoy year-round money saving comfort.
Because of the mild West Coast climate, Powell River is one of the best locations for an air source heat pump. Tempco offers two types of heat pumps: forced air units, using your existing air ducts, and ductless units that can be installed in homes to replace existing inefficient electric baseboard heaters. “As the YORK HVAC dealer for Powell River, Tempco staff have had the opportunity to tour the York factory in Wichita, Kansas” says Tye. “We have such a great relationship with YORK, it just adds to the high level of service and expertise we are able to offer to Powell River homeowners.”
Tempco staff encourages all the current and future customers to drop by and visit the staff at 7239 Duncan Street. Tempco has an operational heat pump on display as well as lots of information on all of their energy efficient products. Tempco employees are always happy to provide details on their products and services. Whether you are considering installing a new high efficiency heating system, air conditioning, or want to ensure your existing heating system is operating at maximum efficiency, you can send an email to email@example.com or contact Tempco at 604-485-5352.
